GESHER COMMUNITY CARE

About Us

Following the events of October 7, 2023, Jessica and Shelly, like so many others, witnessed the alarming rise of antisemitism endured by Jewish students and faculty on America’s college campuses.

Many students shared painful stories of seeking professional help, only to encounter mental health practitioners who dismissed or diminished their experiences.

As the year unfolded, biases among therapists became increasingly pervasive within the field. As psychologists and mothers, Jessica and Shelly felt a deep calling to act.

Jessica and Shelly created Gesher Campus Care, a referral service dedicated to ensuring that the Jewish community has access to safe, supportive, and culturally competent therapists.

Through this work, Shelly and Jessica came to understand that the need for culturally responsive, affirming mental health care extended far beyond campus.

Jewish individuals and families across the country were seeking therapists who truly understood their identities, experiences, and the emotional toll of antisemitism—often while navigating significant financial barriers to care.

In response, Gesher expanded its mission and evolved into Gesher Community Care, broadening access to affordable, culturally responsive mental health support for Jews of all ages and stages of life.

GCC exists to provide the compassionate, warm, & sensitive care that every individual deserves.

GCC is a space where being Jewish is not
just understood, but embraced.

GCC's mission is to empower Jewish individuals to navigate complex times with strength, resilience, & dignity.
